Summer we hope in the Cotswolds, and another artisan market in the lovely pretty Morimer Gardens, maintained superbly by volunteers and containing plants highlighting the local textile connections.

At the beginning of the Spring Bank Holiday weekend and school half term, a good opportuniity to see some items made by local artisans, and interesting vintage items. Among all of these Pickle and Dot will be there with garments for little ones, all one-of-a-kind, no garment repeated, and no manufacturing. And occasionally I like to do something new and different while I am meeting visitors etc

Pickle and Dot will be at the annual Nailsworth Festival this year, appearing with other artisans in Market Street with all the other festival activities settled around the town in full festival regalia.

Monthly market in the pretty Mortimer Gardens in Nailsworth with a large group of local artisans selling food, jewellery and from here at Pickle and Dot the highly individual garments for little ones made from ‘rescued’ textiles. Currently (ending 31st May) there is an exhibition of photos relating to the post war work of Finnish photographer Claire Abo, positioned among the flower beds. This exhibition was curated by the neaby charity ‘Hundred Heroes in Photography, based nearby in Nailsworth dedicated to women in photography

Christmas Fair, Tythe Barn, Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham
A bautifully curated fair run by Francesca Aaronovich to showcase the wide variety of items produced by local artisans; ceramics, handknitted doggy coats, jewellery, woodwork, homewares printed by illustrators, clothes for young children made from rescued vintage and contemporary fabrics.

Bath Independent Market
In the lovely old Bath Green Park Station the Bath Independent has always been a market full of inventive, quirky and creative small artisan businesses, and ‘Pickle and Dot’ have been lucky enough to be accepted to appear there in September, November and December. It will be great to meet new visitors, and as always other stallhlders!

The last Bank Holiday weekend of the year before that longish stretch up to Christmas, and hopefully with good weather before they return to school. I will have some autumn clothes, as well as the usual party dresses etc, but now TROUSERS for the boys at last and for the little girls who like them.

Crafty Bundles Swap Event is the last event in New Brewery Arts’ (in Cirencester) seven-week Craftival, this event is taking place in the last ‘Sustainability’ week. To get involved and be a ‘Bundler’ - contact www.makingplace.co.uk. This is a great time to root out unwanted arts and craft materials (see the Swap information for the list of suggested items). The gallery is then open to the public betweeb 12 and 3 to pick-up craft and creative bundles for a small donation. ‘Bundlers’ have the opportunity to pick up new items between 10.30 and 12 before the gallery opens.
